The Max Factor

By Brenda Gottsche Directed by Jeremy Bond

8 May – 26 May 2007

Aussie writer Brenda Gottsche returns to the intimate Baron’s Court Theatre to premiere her brand new work
The Max Factor, a quirky relationship drama exposing hidden desires and jealousies as two very different sisters fall for one very interesting man.

Max is back. His ex-lover Ellie hasn't seen him since she knocked him unconscious with a phonebook 12 years ago. Now this ex-drug dealer is a big ad man in LA with a beautiful wife and lashings of children. Ellie is looking for a sperm donor. Her sister Karen is seeking excitement. Max is happy to oblige on both fronts. He even organizes internet dates for their elderly mother. Max is all things to all people - until the truth starts closing in on him…

Brenda Gottsche divides her time between London and Sydney. Her first play The Fulham Jesus was performed at Baron's Court in 2003 before heading for productions in Connecticut and Sydney. It is currently in film pre-production in California. Her second play Hot Property played to full houses at the Old Red Lion Theatre in 2005.
